Started in Parma (Italy) in 1975 to develop new materials and technologies for the production of hard resin sun-lenses, INTERCAST EUROPE, is now a worldwide leader in the supply and marketing of organic lenses and optical filters designed to protect and improve vision. There are four fundamentals for success:

INTERCAST EUROPE actively represents Italy at the international standardization bodies CEN and ISO and participates in defining the standards to be applied to eye protection equipment.

Driven by a philosophy founded in technological innovation and scientific research, INTERCAST has distinguished itself as a leader by the advanced technological contents of its products and the stringent quality control of its production. The Company operates cooperatively with its customers to develop custom lens programs. INTERCAST is capable of providing the required support for designing as well as launching new products.

The headquarters are located in Parma Italy, where all the Research and Development activities are concentrated together with the production of special lenses. Thanks to a continuous process of globalization, INTERCAST EUROPE, now covers all major international markets with production and sales units in Europe, USA, Asia and Japan.

The Company is organized in 3 Divisions: Optical, Industrial and Scientific.

The Optical Division produces sun and sport filters to protect and enhance vision. The advanced technology developed in this sector has led to many international patents and the development of products used by leading sunglass companies throughout the world.

The Industrial Division uses the advanced performance of optical polymers to create special filters for digital displays, bar code readers and anti-spark screens for welding applications.

The Scientific Division produces Nuclear Track Detectors (detectors for cosmic and nuclear particles) used in nuclear and aerospace applications as well as optical filters for various scientific fields.

Scientific and technological research is what best characterizes the philosophy and production activity of INTERCAST. Since 1984 the Company has maintained a policy of reinvesting capital resources into Research and Development at a rate of 5 to 7% of revenues annually and committing 10% of human resources to this endeavor.

INTERCAST EUROPE maintains a modern research laboratory acknowledged and authorized by the Italian Ministry for Scientific Research. Since 1984 the INTERCAST Laboratory has carried out studies on the effect of light filtration on visual performance, working cooperatively with renowned vision research centers both in Italy and abroad.

The INTERCAST laboratory is organized into two fundamental areas; Research & Development and Quality Control. The first area conceives new products, develops new optical polymers and treatments, and optimizes production processes.
The second area controls and certifies products and maintains the quality control procedures within the Company.

Since 1984 several innovative products have been introduced which have yet to be imitated.
